Image: Vostok-Zapad Event, 2011

I held an event last night to celebrate 50 years of humans in space, I organised it in collaboration with the Yuri's night and First Orbit global happenings. The event was wholly appropriate given my current situation and research topic. Heavy rain around 2300 meant that instead of the outdoors (projected First Orbit film+audio, bonfire and stargazing through the tower-mounted telescope) event I had planned, I moved everything into Exhibit Hall 2, next door to the workshop. It worked really well having the screen, projector and chair set up in the middle of a vast room, similar to an outdoor experience.
No-one else attended, so this one man celebrated that other one man, and the huge achievements of humanity then and since.
